Kalle Shirt Dress

I do not like to high low look, however I am an experienced sewist and can change that issue easily. Other than that I love the pattern!

Absolute winner

I have been looking for a not to formal shirtdress for ages and this one definitely fits the bill.

The instructions are easy to follow. Even for the more tricky parts such as the collar.

I already made a second one and have ordered the sleeve add-on too.

Beautiful Pattern

I used this pattern to make the top version from an old outdated top that belonged to my grandmother. I truly love how it came out and I am so pleased to have the top as a way to remember my grandmother.

nice easy to understand pattern

Nice pattern, nice instructions. I have made two already and have a 3rd cut out and ready to go. It was my first time making any type of shirt placket, and first time making button holes, and everything was easy to understand and smooth.

Kalle shirtdress - mildly confusing instructions

I made the blouse option. I love the end result. It was my first time making a popover placket and I am pleased with it. I have made traditional button plackets so that wasn't too intimidating. The hem is lovely and the instructions for that were clear. I did really struggle with the collar instructions. I am a very visual learner and I could not wrap my head around the bit about the part of the collar near the placket. I tried twice and watched the tutorial and still could not get a good result. I finally used another method that I have used previously on another pattern and was able to resolve my issues. I also really struggled to understand the instructions for the sleeve cuff! I think that the instructions could be a little more clearly written for this part. I didn't understand that you do not align the raw edge with the sleeve edge. Thanks for a lovely pattern.

Stylish pattern with lots of options.

So many options! Decided to go with a shirt as a first try. I added 6 inches to the length as I felt more comfortable with more coverage.
I made a straight size 22 (yes to the extended sizes options!) and it fits perfectly with no need for an FBA. It took me a while to figure out how to iron the hidden button placket (navigating between the sew along and the pattern) but got there in the end. Definitely a bit challenging but a great results with interesting features.
