Sewed C to send to daughter

I sewed this skirt with a linen cotton blend and it was a lovely combo of the perfect fabric and fine pattern. However when sent to daughter I was saddened to hear it was too large. “Just belt it”

Fiore Skirt

I work full time and have three teenagers which means in my limited time to sew I don't want to have to try to decipher any weird/missing sewing instructions. This is the reason I love independent sewing companies and Closet Core Patterns have an outstanding rep in the online world for good instructions. And I wanted a pattern I would wear and my teen girls - why not make good use of my money! The Fiore Skirt we all loved the style of and I loved every minute of the construction of this skirt, after getting it printed at a copy shop, another time saver I habitually use now that I know better! Who doesn't need another jean skirt with good size pockets? Anyways, this was an easy peasy project that my girls could sew on their own BECAUSE of the great instructions! A small change I made was adding a thin strip of twill tape inside the waistband to stop any potential stretching of the waistband, that's it! I have plans to make more and so do my girls - if the teens like it then you know it must be a hip skirt! I couldn't help that pun...

Great for a Beginner

I made view C using some medium weight linen and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out; I'm fairly new to sewing and this was the first skirt I've made! The instructions for the most part were clear and easy to follow along with; there was a few times that I had to sit and think for a bit, but it was still more clear than other pattern companies (ie Simplicity). A little more help with the buttons would've been nice though. The instructions basically just said add the buttons and buttonholes so I had to do additional research to figure out how to accomplish that. Overall, I would definitely recommend this pattern to others.

This was the most complicated garment I had seen when I made it- my first stable waistband, my first invisible zip, and my first time working with a slinky rayon. It’s not perfect, but I enjoyed the process and the skirt is totally wearable. The instructions were great- usually while I’m working on new techniques I google other instructions to compare, but when I made this I only used the instructions that came with it. They were very clear, even for a beginner like me!

My favorite skirt!

I really like it!
A-line skirts are my style, and the fiore, specially the wrap one with the pocket, it’s my favorite!
Following the instructions was very easy, I already made 2! 😉
Now the Clare Coat and the Jenny Overalls are on my next project list!!!
