Elodie is a modern take on a classic wrap dress. Romantic and flowy with multiple skirt and sleeve options, it’s equally appropriate at a park picnic or a special wedding.

Elodie features a softly flowing bodice, with release pleats under the bust and a dolman style sleeve. Choose between a short sleeve or a longer, more formal option that ends at the elbow. The skirt is swishy and voluminous and comes in three lengths, above the knee, midi or maxi, with optional patch pockets.

Sizes: 0-20 (print and PDF) and 14-30 (PDF)

Fabric and Supplies

SUGGESTED FABRIC

Elodie can be made in a wide variety of fabrics. Light to medium weight wovens like linen, cotton poplin, batiste, voile and chambray will have a more casual feel. Choose a drapey woven like silk, viscose, tencel or rayon challis for a more elegant or fluid effect.

ADDITIONAL SUPPLIES
  • Lightweight fusible interfacing
  • Marking tool
  • Polyester thread
  • Point turner

Another winner!

Love this pattern. I needed my usual mods of a shortened bodice and I'll size down for my next but the shape is beautiful and the instructions clear. A fabulous go anywhere multi-season layerable dress

Brilliant pattern

This pattern fit like a glove the first time I made it. The only alteration I make to to add a tiny bit more length to the front wrap as I live in a Windy City and it can blow open.
Fits my hips, waist and bust perfectly. I have made three already and I see many more in my future.

Beautiful Pattern

I loved Elodie the minute I saw the pattern! It was so much fun to sew and I am thrilled with how my dress turned out. I can’t wait to sew this pattern again.

Elodie Wrap Dress

I have made two Elodie wrap dresses. I love the style and the feel of the dress. I did find with my first one that it "gapped" a bit as i did not do any adjustments to the bodice. I am only 5'2". So I made my second one adjusting the bodice fit. I am really happy with the results!

Very Flexible Pattern

I am a confident beginner sewist, and I made the skirt, ties, and wraparound-bodice-closure of the Elodie (Above-the-Knee Length) as part of a mash-together project making a wrap dress with a more fitted bodice. This was all made from cotton flannelette.

As part of this project, I used an existing shoulder-princess-seamed bodice and lined up the centre-bodice lines with the Elodie wrap bodice in redraw it as a wrap-style closure, as well as using the facing-pattern to finish the neckline.

I also used all of the original waistband, wrap ties, and skirt as-is, without any adjustments from the pattern - the size I cut fit me great (not to mention it's a wrap-tie dress, it's got a lot of flexibility there).

I'm not sure I'd make the Elodie as-is, because I generally don't lean towards drapey-fabric bodices and I was quite unsure about how to make a FBA on the Elodie bodice with large sleeves and release pleats (but that is very much my problem, not the pattern).

Overall I am still quite happy with CC's Elodie, and I recommend it for other confident beginners.

Very good responses to queries

I had a bit of trouble printing off at first but the team were very helpful and responded very quickly to sort it out.
A lot of paper but very easy to put together. I haven't made it up yet due to other projects but have purchased my fabric and its next on my list
