I took the pants class because I wanted to make pants, without an elastic waist, that fit and were beautiful. That is what I was able to make with the tips in the class. Usually when I sew I try to think of what my Grandma would say, but the reception is not always clear. In this class I got advice on zippers, buttons (two of my biggest fears), serger techniques, finishes that look professional, pattern altering. My pants are a little big but that is because I did not follow the advice to baste fit them. I am starting another pair, with a size smaller waist, but I will still wear the other ones.
Absolutely amazing class. I've been sewing for decades and I've already learned so much!
Finished my first Jenna pattern while following the shirt sewing course. Love all the details in this pattern. The course was so worth it. I learned a lot and loved the hand-holding through the tricky parts. My new sewing machine, made buttonholes and basically the whole shirt a breeze. I made a size Medium with no adjustments. Fabric is thrifted cotton shirting. Buttons and other notions from my stash. Used a denim chambray for the under collar, sleeve plackets and side triangles. I will definitely return to this course as I try sewing other button up patterns, especially collars and sleeve plackets.
